Anyway, if George “has” done what he is stating then he should be able to use this driver in some form.

As far as the GPU goes, I have full access to the GPU memory space 0×2800… But without a driver, it’s useless. 3D video card drivers are notoriously hard to write, look at the ATI and NVIDIA ones for linux. The best are still the closed source manufacturer ones. I’m not even sure I believe that the HV restricts video card access, just that the OtherOS driver is 2D. If someone skilled in video card driver development comes forward, and they can explain in detail what the HV is restricting, I’ll send them the exploit.

I am posting in response to his above statement as it seems that yld have a driver and seeing what the Zego server is used for, and as Sony’s prefered linux is yld, this is a possible work around.

As I stated before, this may be way off track but, in theory and if GH does have the access he states, we could see some rsx action!

I’m looking to buy a Xbox 360 or a PlayStation 3 soon. There are different models of each. I wanted to know how many different models there are of each console and which one is best to buy. Why isn’t the PlayStation 3 160GB out yet? Lastly, what are the top 5 games for each console?Thanks in advance.

Sony is facing accusations and charges of earning profits at the expense of the customer. It recently announced the new decision to disable Linux on the PlayStation 3. A lawsuit has been filed against the company for not supporting the operating system.

Sony blamed the security reasons for such a change in its support of the operating system on its game console. The company had repeatedly stressed in its promotion that the playstation runs the full feature of Linux which changes the utility of the game console into a home computer.

After all the promotion, it became a necessity as well as the favorite of the people. The suit has been filed in San Francisco’s federal court and requires a class action status. The filing says, “Sony has been unjustly enriched at the expense of plaintiff and the class (.pdf) and is required, in equity and good conscience, to compensate plaintiff and the class for harm suffered as a result of its actions”.

The suit has been filed by a man belonging to California, who purchased PS3 in the year 2007 by giving $500. He confirms that his decision to pay such an amount was driven due to the Linux feature, which was advertised to be supported by playstation.

Playstation 3 repairs – Yellow light of Death or otherwise known as YLOD

The infamous Yellow light of Death , that’s what us internet / technology junky refer to this dreadful costly problem, Sony has Entertain us and now has failed us , I’m sure many of you patriot gamers like my self purchased the Playstation 3 on its released date and paid in excess of $1000 AUD , and just as your warranty / extended warranty ran out your consoles started to beep furiously and turning Yellow .

The console started to beep Yellow and my face began turning red , furious that my $1000 investment not including my vast collections of game has just become obsolete , and with the Global Financial Crisis so recent it’s financially unwise to go and spend another $500 getting a replacement.

Nonetheless rather then getting upset and wasting my time and effort calling the Australian Sony Technically Support Center located in INDIA , i started my research like all geeks do , and found that the cause and reason of this Infamously costly failure was actually HARDWARE failure.

The CPU “Central Processing Units” & VGU “Visual Graphic Unit” has fallen victim to dry solder , Sony recently brag out Microsoft saying there console was more durable and heat resistant , but they spoke too soon.

The Yellow light of Death , YLOD , is similar to the Microsoft XBOX 360 Red right of Death or know as RROD .

The only difference is Microsoft accepted responsibility and fork out $1Billion USD wordwide to fix the problem but  SONY is Denieding it .

In the mist of battle , gunshot firing, ducking for cover , i loaded my rifle and ran straight for the machine gun nest , and all of a sudden the Screen FROZE … god dam .. ! i didnt even save the game nor did i get a chance too , i then clench my heart and resetted the Playstation , and hope it was just a small hiccup , the console resetting , the screen came back on, a good sign it’s not the Yellow light of Death -YLOD , i scroll to the right and search for the game icon to appear , i could see the disc spinning on the top right hand corner of my screen , and waited , waited and waited .. It’ Just wouldnt read or detect the Disc , i then tried a CD , DVD and Bluray movie with no avail.
