There are 2 ways on how you can get to play movie on PSP. Both options have their own advantage and disadvantages and in all practicality you can use both methods.

Play Movie On PSP : Method #1

The first method requires the use of DVD ripper program. For those that don’t know what DVD rippers are; they are programs that extract you existing DVD into your computer hard disk and reformatting those files into smaller manageable files. Other than that you must have these

• USB cable to connect your PSP to PC

• A big enough memory stick. I usually recommend nothing less than 512MB

• DVD converter. You can get free video converter at PSP Video 9. It converts
video files such as avi and mpeg into PSP playable file.

• Sufficient hard disk in your PC. 1 GB should be ample enough.

These method is on applicable to those that want to play their existing DVD and play movies on PSP.

1. All you have to do is insert your DVD into you DVD drive and run the DVD ripper program. Locate the video file you want to rip and hit the extract button. You will then be prompt as to where you want to store your file.

2. Once you got the ripped file, in order for you to play movie on PSP, you must convert the ripped file using the free PSP Video 9 program mentioned earlier. Specify the ripped file and convert / encode the file.

3. Now that you have the file on your computer, all you need to do is transfer the file from your PC to your PSP. This is the critical part of the whole operation. If you don’t get this right, you won’t be able to play movie on PSP. Create a folder named MP_ROOT100MNV01 in your PSP. Transfer your PSP movie file into the folder. Now you can enjoy the fruits of your labor.

The second method is much simpler but there is a downside to it. As always nothing is perfect.

Play Movie On PSP : The Easy Method #2

This method can be done by joining the numerous PSP download site available in the internet nowadays. Finding a download site is the easy part. Finding a good site is the tricky bit.

Ultimately this maybe the downfall of the second method, the download speed of the site. You don’t want to wait too long for a download. If you have a dial-up connection (56K modem or less) to the internet, I would not recommend this method to you as it is time consuming.

The good thing about downloading from these membership site is that you don’t have to do any DVD ripping which is in itself can be time consuming at the very best and downright frustrating if you don’t get it right.

You just download and watch the movies. The only thing that will cost you is the lifetime membership charges. Look at it this way, by the time you download a full movie, you’ll already cover the membership charges and you can download unlimited number of files and have access to games cheat, review and get free PSP tools too.

You can always store your movie files on your PC and download the movie onto your memory stick if you want to watch them.

These are two ways to get to play movie on PSP apart from your usual UMD disc which can sometime blow a hold through your wallet. Either method you choose, it allows you to watch movie on PSP without costing you too much.

If you are a software developer, then you should really think about this issue because you might face the problem of piracy, all those effort to make great games might be in vain. Popular gaming consoles have different layers of protection, making them a great consideration for any producer.

If you are a game aficionado who likes to steal games, I tell you it is not worth it. iPhone apps are selling very cheap, cheaper than PC or other handheld gaming consoles, so spending a little on can make you show your appreciation to the producers to their effort of producing such quality games, or you may not experience any great games anymore at all in the future.

The OSI has seven layers, spread into two groups. The upper three layers determine how the applications inside the end stations will intercommunicate with each other and with users. The last four layers define how data is carried end to end.
